My little helper

Mira was helping today during her appointment with her neurologist by holding the papers for her lab work. What a big girl. 😉

Most of what we're checking for her today is for her endocrinologist in our constant monitoring of her sodium levels. We're keeping her at a good spot, but it doesn't happen without active monitoring and appropriate adjusting!

Reuben's along with us, too, so we can take our first draw to see how he's tolerating his new med, and if there's any room to safely increase the dose since the "full" dose we're at now isn't making the difference that would make a med of this caliber worth continuing.

  2. Have you considered cannabis oil for him? There has been significant postives in the study of cannabis for seizures. Look into it. If we are okay pumping lab-made chemicals into children, we certainly should be okay with giving them oil from God's green earth. The stigma's behind marijuana are because it was criminilized because of MONEY for the governments. Not because it is dangerous. It is certainly less dangerous than anticonvulsants and benzodiazapenes and nerve drugs. I've seen children who've had 75 seizures a day go down to as little as 3 and sometimes none. There is nothing morally wrong with marijuana as a medication. Just because something may not be legal doesn't mean its immoral, just as something that is legal may not be moral. I urge you to research it, and perhaps consider it. Give that boy some peace in his little brain that is rapid firing and short circuiting all the time. He deserves to be able to have a day where he doesn't bang his head or fall into the table because he his brains circuits keep tripping. We didn't get the research done in time for our little girl, and she deteriorated and she went to be with the lord. But it's approved medically in our state. Oh how I wish we had tried instead of damaging her little kidneys and liver beyond repair with stronger and stronger and stronger drugs... that never worked! She was a zombie most of the time with this suppresants and benzo's and meds. She wasn't herself. I've seen children retruned to themselves after trying alternatives like cannabis oil. PLEASE consider it for this one. Give him a fighting chance!!!

    1. This has been on our minds since it became legal here in MN about two years ago. We've been waiting for the point where our current method wasn't doing it anymore, and it's not. ;) Tuesday is his day to get started.
