  3. Ah I am so happy to see this! And her pretty face!! :-)
Hope she is settling in well back at home and praying no more buggies in those precious lungs!!

Just curious - with her hearing and vision - would she be a candidate for a cochlear implant? I just wonder if it would be of any benefit for her to finally get some feedback in her life. I know how important touch is for a girl who lived in a dark silent world alone in a crib for so many years. But I wonder if auditory feedback would be nice for her. I'm sure some may see it as "pointless" for someone like her, but I dont know. I wonder if it would be nice for her to hear you all tell her you love her even if the words don't make sense to her.

Aside from the point or purpose of it, would she be a candidate logistically? is her type of hearing loss that kind that can be changed with cochlear tech?

  4. She looks wonderful, relaxed and content.

I wanted to thank you Andrea for answering my queries about tactile sogn language the other day. I think you are doing a great job and her 'vesting smiles' indicate her capacity to learn about what is coming.

Just look at those relaxed arms and hands! It is hard to believe she was ever that stiff, twisted baby girl we were all introduced to years ago.

I drafted a reply thanking you earlier but I don't think I published it right.

I will be praying for those poor, tiny lungs of hers!

  5. I kept staring at the picture thinking there is something different about Mira. Not her face, not her hair, not her clothes, not her clear skin, not her alert expression. Then it struck me. Her hands and body are not stiff as before, Pretty girl !

    1. She is definitely more relaxed, and to see her that way even after a three week hospital stay is pretty neat. ;)
