Where the rock ended up

I was out yesterday in the addition with the camera during daylight hours and took some shots of where the sheet rock finished up after the big work day, and Matt putsing a little on his own on bits and pieces.
This is the room that will be Matt's mom's bedroom. The windows look to the north, over our backyard and away from the street.
This is looking the other way in the same room - the door on the right is the one out into the hallway, and the one on the left is a small full-height closet.

Matt's always been good at using his head, here to hold the sheet rock for the closet ceiling while he screws it in.
This is one end of the front room which will be Barb's sitting room. She has said she would really like to bring her piano when she moves in (the piano was given to her by her in-laws because she used it more than anyone when it was in their house. Kind of neat that it's moving back into the same house! Though we have to laugh, because it will sit right above where our piano will go in the main level of the addition! Me and Grandma - dueling pianos!)

And this is the other end of the room. We had originally planned to have a "knee wall" to close off the low part of the slant under the roof in this room as we did in the bedroom, and just use it as closet space, but as it was being framed, really liked the character and openness of the room without the knee wall, so left it out. We can always put one in someday if we want to... These windows look south and toward the street.
Going down the stairs from the small hall between the two rooms: as you can see, this wall did not get rocked on Saturday, but is likely something that Matt and I (or someone else) can do together. The opening will be a bookshelf when its done being scrap sheet rock storage! This is a switch-back stair, and the landing will have a bench built in on the right for a place to rest halfway, or to sit with a book and read.

Going down from the landing to the main level there is another bookshelf (this one a single shelf only, while the one going up will have two shelves.) It's kind of fussy work to add these details, but that's one fun thing about doing your own work on a project - the labor is cheap, and you can add little extras like this.
And on the main level, looking back toward the stairs up, you can see the recess for shelves for games and puzzles (the space up on top is where the stairway bookshelf space comes from!) We plan to use trim and varying paint colors to play up some of these transitions. Some day. ;)

Looking around out the front corner - love this corner!

And over to the side where my piano will tuck in. ;) If you look closely toward the left of this photo, you can see Matt ducking back through the window into the existing part of the house.
